Meet Selected Faculty
Eli Garcia
Following a successful corporate career in strategic marketing planning, marketing communication and public relations, Eli Garcia joined UTEP. He’s a senior lecturer in this program and director of special programs for the Department of Communication at UTEP. His research interests include public relations, corporate communication, marketing and branding. He holds an MBA as well as an M.A. in Communication from UTEP.
Richard Pineda
An associate professor in the Department of Communication and program chair for the B.A. in Organizational and Corporate Communication, Richard Pineda holds an M.A. in Communication from UTEP and a Ph.D. from Wayne State University. He is also the director of the Sam Donaldson Center for Communication Studies at UTEP. His research has appeared in communication journals and he serves on the editorial boards for the two preeminent argumentation journals in the country, Argumentation and Advocacy as well as Contemporary Argumentation and Debate.
