Online Bachelor of Science in Nursing: RN to BSN Option
Active, Unencumbered RN License in the U.S. Required for Application
Enhance your career opportunities and earnings potential with a fully online RN to BSN that you can complete in one year. RN license and associate degree in nursing required for admission.
100% Online. One Year. One Class at a Time.
Becoming a BSN-prepared nurse opens up a number of career opportunities and expands your salary potential. UTEP’s affordable online RN to BSN helps you do that in a program truly built for working nurses.
You don’t need to juggle courses. You’ll take one class at a time, in seven-week chunks, which allows you to finish after two and a half semesters. In as few as 12 months, you’ll be able to complete your degree alongside work and other commitments.
Flexibility extends into the mentorship component. It’s a nonclinical mentorship that typically takes place where you work. You’ll complete a community needs teaching project and quality improvement project that benefit the facility—and are often used as clinical ladder steps to move up in your position and salary.
When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to become a charge nurse or unit director. You can move into administration or look to advance your role/salary in your current field of expertise.
Degree Requirements
You’ll need an RN license and an associate degree in nursing to be considered for admission to UTEP’s online RN to BSN program.

“While my career has been exciting and fulfilling, I always thought I should go back to school and obtain my BSN. I have had to pass up on other positions due to my lack of having a bachelor’s degree. … There is no doubt I would enroll in this program again. Even though I have been an RN for many years, this program showed me what was lacking in my education.”
